Trap Safety for Pet Owners Brochure – Pocket-Sized

TRAP SAFETY FOR PET OWNERS

WU’s mission is dedicated to create a safe and humane environment for people, pets and wildlife. We have taken another step to reach this goal by producing a new “Trap Safety for Pet Owners” pocket-sized hand out, printed on 11×17 paper, folded to 4.25×5.5. We’ve also designed a viewable and printable format for Smartphone download. www.wyominguntrapped.org/UntrapYourPet.pdf.

Our printed/folded version will be available by the end of the week. This is our first publication draft, so please feel free to share your thoughts.

Thanks to the following donors for their generous contributions: The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Sarah DeGennaro for the ADF&G illustrations, and our local Sue Cedarholm for the cover photo – “Wilson”.

Although there are unlimited numbers of traps out there every day of the year, the numbers will increase significantly on Oct 1, the start of furbearer hunting and trapping season in Wyoming. Know what to do if your pet should be caught in a trap.
You can also watch our instructional video “How to Release Your Pet From a Trap”.

****NOTE****
The most effective format for this information will be in your head: committed to memory, and practiced in a realistic simulation with an actual trap, a life-sized dog model, and an experienced coach. (SS)
