Public Notice Signs Warning of Trapping

Public notice signs warning of trapping in three popular recreation areas on the Palisades Ranger District of the Caribuou-Targhee National Forest in Idaho have been posted after Wyoming Untrapped’s request.. They have been placed at McCoy Creek, Pallisades Lake trailhead and on the South Fork Road. A dog owned by an man from nearby Alpine, Wyoming was caught in a trap just before Christmas while they were Christmas tree hunting. Big thanks to Palisades District Ranger Tracy Hollingshead and her staff for their prompt action. Other warning signs have been placed in the Jackson Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest after several dogs were caught in traps in the Fall Creek area in November. Pelt prices are at a 30-year high because of high demand for fashionable fur clothing in China and Russia. So we can expect increased trapping and increased danger to you and your pets.
