Dog “Duke” caught in two legholds simultaneously in Cheyennee west of Ten Sleep, WY
We received a call from Diamond In The Rough Pet Recovery about a Yellow Lab caught in two leghold traps near a residential area off of Artesian Road in Cheyenne. The leghold traps were attached to an old auto tire as the dog was dragging it, obviously set by an amateur trapper.… -

Dog barely escaped snare incident, Vedauwoo, Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, WY
Until I became a member of this group, I never knew that traps and snares were set in area we traverse all the time. Tonight we came across a series of snares about 20 yards off of Road 701E. On top of everything else I carry in winter months, I now plan on packing a "trap defense" tool kit as well. What a shame it is I have to worry about me or my dog being snared on public land... -

Dog, “Sheba”, trapped in leghold, Tunnel Hill Rd, Fremont County, WY
WU received information from WY Trap-Freemont County that "Sheba", a 5-year-old border collie was caught in a leghold trap while trotting alongside her owner Perry Kaufman who was on horseback. Please be aware that these horrific snares and traps litter our landscapes. The WGFD is actively addressing possible trapping reform.
