WHAT IS OLD BILL’S?
The first event of its kind in the nation, the idea for Old Bill’s Fun Run for Charities came from an anonymous couple affectionately known as Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill. Their vision was to expand the charitable pie in Jackson Hole by encouraging the entire community to participate in philanthropy. In the months leading up to the event, local donors make gifts of all sizes to their favorite causes.
In 2020, the event raised $15,314,287 from 4,349 donors. Since its inception, Old Bill’s has brought an astounding $189 million philanthropic dollars to our community. These funds are busy feeding the hungry, supporting the sick and elderly, teaching kids to read, protecting wildlife, building affordable housing, enriching our lives through the arts, and touching the lives of everyone in Teton County. Old Bill’s is administered by the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. For more information on this year’s event, visit oldbills.org
Old Bill’s makes giving easy as donors need only fill out one form and write one check to give to as many local organizations as they like.
OLD BILL’S FUN RUN 2021
The 24th annual, community-wide fundraiser, Old Bill’s Fun Run, will take place this summer with considerable event modifications in response to COVID-19.
OLD BILL’S FUN RUN 2021
Transitions back to a virtual celebration
Jackson, WY – The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole announced today that the 25th annual, community-wide fundraiser, Old Bill’s Fun Run, will be modified in accordance with Teton County Health Department’s recommendations for large-scale events and Town of Jackson permit requirements. Old Bill’s has become one of the largest annual events in the Town of Jackson — attracting more than 3,500 people every September.
Considering the high rate of transmission of COVID in our community and the recent increase in the COVID-19 risk level from Orange (Moderate) to Red (High), the Community Foundation is taking steps to ensure the safety and welfare of the Jackson community by calling off its Run Day festivities including the 5k and10k Run/Walk and Nonprofit Village, which were previously scheduled for September 11. Up until today, Run Day plans were being modified in compliance with the Town’s special event rules for in-person gatherings of up to 500 people, however, the revised Run Day plans are no longer viable now that our community has entered the Red risk level.
“Old Bill’s Fun Run is about community and how we care for each other,” remarked Laurie Andrews, President of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. “We broke all fundraising records last year as we rallied around our nonprofit friends despite difficult circumstances. The spirit of Old Bill’s is powerful, and I know we can take care of each other, celebrate the 25th Anniversary, and make this year spectacular.”

partnering with Snake River Brewing on a commemorative brew, Sprint to the Finish IPA. A percentage of sales of this seasonal beer will be donated to the Old Bill’s Match Fund, which is used to partially match the designated gifts of community donors during the Old Bill’s Giving Season, increasing the impact of each participating nonprofit’s fundraising efforts. The limited-edition Session India Pale Ale is available for purchase at local liquor stores through September and is being served on draft at Snake River Brewing’s newly remodeled Brewpub.
Countdown week
Countdown Week returns September 7-11 with Old Bill’s participating nonprofits having the option to host a socially distanced celebration, whether it be a creative display at their offices, a small, interactive activity reflective of their mission, a mini-parade, or a costumed rally on a street corner, or a digital marketing campaign. Countdown Week celebrations will be documented by the Community Foundation’s team of roving photographers and videographers, who will share the footage on social media and in a compilation video at the end of the week.
