Trapping reform is a key part of Wyoming Untrapped’s mission. However, improving wildlife management in Wyoming is challenging due to resistance from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and Commission. As an advocate for significant trapping reform, help us move our mission forward, but remember that there are many other ways that you can help!

  • What Wyoming Allows, It Teaches

We speak of wide open spaces, hard winters, resilience, and respect for the land. We celebrate wildlife as part of our identity, something that belongs not just to the state, but to the world. Yet the laws we uphold and the penalties we impose are telling a different story—one of tolerance for cruelty.
  • SWAP – State Wildlife Action Plan 2027

Public, stakeholder, and partner engagement are key components of the SWAP. In spring 2025, public feedback was sought on the 2017 SWAP, which will inform the ongoing revision. In spring 2026, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department will make a complete draft of the SWAP plan available for public comment. If you have comments or questions, please reach out to the State Wildlife Action Plan Coordinator Rhiannon Jakopak at rhiannon.jakopak@wyo.gov.
