Pet Dogs Caught Up in Idaho’s Wolf-control Effort

A dog in Idaho was caught in a leghold trap on the side of the road, while the owner was cross-country skiing.

Idaho is now requiring mandatory trapper education in the state beginning this year, although this does nothing to allow safe public trails and lands for pets, people and wildlife.

Wyoming allows traps directly on all public trails outside the National Park and Refuge, even where dogs are required to be leashed, traps are legal. Our trapping regulations are not acceptable in the year 2016, and urgent reform is needed!
