“Another, known, Great Horned Owl in Montana caught in a leghold trap. Feb 2016. This trap weighed basically as much as the Owl. Believed to “probably been dragging the trap through the snow for several days, long enough that the toe that was in the trap is not savable and has been amputated.” He is now in rehab and reportedly doing well. We thank our friends at Wild Skies Raptor Center for all their efforts and the good Samaritan for rescuing the owl! ” –Trap Free Montana Public Lands
