Groups File Petition to Ban M-44s in Wyoming
A petition was sent today to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services (USDA WS) and the Wyoming Department of Agriculture (WDA). The petition was authored mainly by the Animal Welfare Institute and Wyoming Untrapped and is signed by several Wyoming based groups along with other national animal welfare and conservation groups. We are calling for the immediate discontinued use of all M-44s in the state of Wyoming. These indiscriminate devices are ineffective at reducing livestock losses and unnecessarily put people, pets, and wildlife at risk of serious injury and death. We hope to hear back from the USDA Wildlife Services and WDA soon.
