Feb 03 2021 Trapping laws on public lands ineffective
Since mid-November, six dogs became entangled in neck snares or held in terror by foot-hold traps. That is, six cases in an eight-week period. If we broaden the time frame to include February of 2020, less than 12 months ago, we can add another. Except for one, all were on public land and at least half set illegally. -

"Our neighbor who teaches hunting safety went back with us to recover Sugar’s body. Together these two big men could not free her so we had to cut the red nylon rope tie-down and carried her body to his garage where he had to use two vises to finally remove the trap." -

A dog, a basset hound mix, was caught in a snare by his front feet, in Vedauwoo Recreation Area, near Laramie, Wyoming. This is the third trapping incident in Vedauwoo during this winter season. Until we can separate traps and trails, please stay vigilant. -

A dog, "Shia" was caught in a leghold trap on Sunday, Dec 20, 2020, near the Chimney Park area, near Laramie, Wyoming. This is the fourth pet reported trapped in four weeks, that we know about. Until we can separate traps and trails, please stay vigilant.
