We received a call from Diamond In The Rough Pet Recovery about a Yellow Lab caught in two leghold traps near a residential area off of Artesian Road in Cheyenne. The leghold traps were attached to an old auto tire as the dog was dragging it, obviously set by an amateur trapper.… -

Dog “Shia” caught in leghold, Chimney Park area, Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, WY
A dog, "Shia" was caught in a leghold trap on Sunday, Dec 20, 2020, near the Chimney Park area, near Laramie, Wyoming. This is the fourth pet reported trapped in four weeks, that we know about. Until we can separate traps and trails, please stay vigilant. -

Dog barely escaped snare incident, Vedauwoo, Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, WY
Until I became a member of this group, I never knew that traps and snares were set in area we traverse all the time. Tonight we came across a series of snares about 20 yards off of Road 701E. On top of everything else I carry in winter months, I now plan on packing a "trap defense" tool kit as well. What a shame it is I have to worry about me or my dog being snared on public land... -

Dog “Poppy” Caught in Leghold, Pole Mountain, Medicine Bow National Forest
